Shade Trees Consultancy Ltd is a tree consultancy firm based in Ōtautahi Christchurch/Waitaha Canterbury. We provide a range of arboricultural and urban/community forestry advice, services and tree reports across Aotearoa New Zealand. We have CCC (Christchurch City Council) approved Technician and Supervising Arborists as well as ISA (International Society of Arboriculture) Certified Arborists with tree risk assessment qualifications. We have extensive experience navigating the relevant Council tree related compliance requirements and processes and advising on other urban forestry projects/topics.

Our objectives on any project is to build relationships and help achieve pragmatic and cost-effective solutions that balances quality/beneficial tree outcomes with other project priorities.

When collaborating with project teams, it can be helpful to get an Arborist involved early in the process to get ahead of potential tree issues/conflicts. From Resource Consents to Vehicle Crossing Applications or New Subdivision Engineering Reports, trees and tree related project requirements can sometimes feel complex, but it doesn’t have to be with early arborist engagement and collaboration.
